Once upon a time, there was a city named Sangli. Sangli’s mayor was older .so he was thinking to select the new mayor amongst the people of Sangli. So he called his assistant and asked that how to select the new mayor amongst the people of Sangli.
The assistant got an idea “He told that we will give boiled seed to all the people to Sangli and tell that whose plant will grow well he will be next mayor of Sangli” the mayor told “what a nice idea” .so he called a guard and told that who want to be the next mayor tomorrow sharp 9 o, clock come In the court.
The next morning the 6 people came to the court and meet the mayor. the mayor gave the boiled seeds to them and told: “them to grow the seeds into the plants and whose plant will be well grown he will be the next mayor of Sangli”. He told them to bring the plant after 7 weeks.
The 6 competitors started growing plants in the first week. In the second week, they saw that the plants have not grown little also so the 5 competitors removed the boiled seed and sowed the new seed but the one competitor whose name was Rajiv did not remove boiled seed and grown it.
After seven weeks the 6 competitors came to the court and meet the mayor. Mayor told everyone to show their plants.6 competitors shown their plants to the mayor. Mayor saw at Rajiv and his plant. the mayor told Rajiv that “why your plant is not grown?”.Rajiv said that “Sorry sir, I tried my full but the plant not grown”. Then the mayor told that "no Rajiv don’t mind".
Now I declare that you are the next mayor of Sangli.Then 5 competitors asked that “why you select Rajiv as the new mayor? His plant is not grown at all and our plants are well grown ”.Then-Mayor told that “I choose Rajiv as the next mayor because you all cheat”. Then 5 competitors asked that “How we cheat?”.
Then-Mayor told that “the seed which I gave you were boiled and the plant can never grow from that seed. So I declare that from now your next mayor is Rajiv”
Moral: Honesty is the best policy.
